Unpack the 2023 Impact Report

May 17, 2024 Kelly McGeehan

At Sabai, we believe in transparency, which is why we've opened up our latest Impact Report for everyone to explore. For further details on our ongoing efforts, we encourage you to delve into our latest sustainability report. This document will guide you through the sustainability milestones we've achieved, what we're currently working on, and what lies ahead. Read the full report here.

Being proactive, not reactive

Because prevention is the best way to reduce your environmental footprint, we consider the effects of our decisions before we make them. We’re intentional about what materials we use, how we use them, and what happens to our pieces once they’re created.

Our furniture is made of recycled or locally sourced materials proven to be durable and eco-friendly. Moreover, our pieces are designed so that key parts can be replaced to extend their lifespans. Looking to refresh your space with a pop of color, or need to upgrade the size of your sofa? No worries, our versatile slipcovers and expansion kits can help. In fact, we’ve sold

1,393 replacement parts & 814 slipcovers

since 2021. That’s over 2,000 purchases that extended the life of furniture and saved it from a landfill.

We also believe that how you make something is just as important as what you make. That’s why we partner with domestic manufacturers committed to reducing waste and offering fair wages.

Engaging the community

We prioritize sharing the values and concerns close to our hearts with our community. For us, this means forging meaningful partnerships and planning events that foster community bonds and support our mission. From organizing picnic gatherings and park clean ups to participating in climate change panels, we actively strive to build strong communal bonds focused on sustainability efforts.

Keeping it circular

We understand that creating new products contradicts our mission of sustainability. That's why we created end-of-life programs to reduce waste and encourage a circular cycle in the furniture industry.

Our Repair Don’t Replace program lets you buy replacement parts and revamp your Sabai pieces when you’re craving something new. Our Sabai Revive program allows you to sell your Sabai pieces back to us or shop preloved Sabai items for less.

Sustainability is a continuous effort. We plan to expand our preventative and regenerative efforts as we continue to learn and grow as a company.
